Julie Stewart has been working in clay for over 45 years in the Portland, Oregon area. She got "hooked" on clay back in high school and spent hours in the ceramics department, under her instructor John Lortz, closing it down most every afternoon. Julie studied ceramics at Portland State University under Ray Grimm, and has worked as a studio potter at the former Potter's Workshop in NW Portland and at Stark Street Studios, currently and over the years.
